Our First Destination Imagination (DI) Challenge

Monday, December 8 was Webster Niblock School's Grades 4-6 first experience with Destination Imagination. This short video explains about why and how DI is supporting student learning: .

The challenge the students had was to build a Christmas tree using only newspapers, 3 spaghetti noodles, 4 straws, 4 mailing labels, a 30 cm piece of string and a 30 cm square of aluminum foil. The Christmas tree had to be free standing, have a trunk, branches and leaves and be able to support 3 Christmas ornaments.
The foundation of DI is to support student creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills. The Grades 4,5 and 6's did amazing work and certainly demonstrated the true nature of DI. The following are images showing our fantastic students hard at work.

Unfortunately, Kate's nose started bleeding just as the Challenge started!

We are looking forward to more DI challenges in the months to come! Thank you to all the students who made our first DI such a great success.
